KC King dropped her newest EP Tryna Get Lit In A House That’s Burnin’ exclusively on Bandcamp. The goal of the EP is to give people music to move and groove to but to also make them stay long enough to hear King’s critique of our country (USA) that is, in many ways figuratively and literally, on fire. This genre-bending project is unequivocally Black. King was influenced by Afrobeats, Reggae, Bubu, and Gumbe of Sierra Leone while also exploring Black American genres like R&B, Hip-Hop, Disco, House, and Funk. The EP features songs Yu Dae, Got Ya Money, Center Yourself, and Night Becomes The Day co-written and produced with EAZY. Listen and listen again 🙂
