KC AND THE 3 KINGS Brings fresh vibes to the stage

KC and the 3 Kings had a funky fresh performance at Be Here Now Februrary 27th. It was their ode to Black music show, and the crowd enjoyed every minute. With the opener myzymyzy bringing their alternative techno vibes and putting the crowd in a good mood, the stage was set for KC3K. The band played R&B favorites like Brown Sugar by D’Angelo, Cleva by Erykah Badu, and more. They even combined some new school faves in the set with the likes of Kissing In Public by Destin Conrad. And of course, they played KC’s original music, with fan favorites like Light of Day and a handful of unreleased songs!

Most importantly, KC3K brought us some protest songs. It was quite important to KC to program these types of songs to honor how art has always been political and continues to be political. It is important to make our voices heard, and KC and the 3 Kings took the opportunity to play Give The People What They Want by The O’Jays and Freeze Tag by Terrace Martin to express some of their feelings about the current political climate. The crowd was incredibly responsive and enjoyed the ebbs and flows as KC3K soared in the fresh vibes created that evening.
